Warwick’s wet start to the week is set to continue according to the latest predictions, with more heavy rainfall and potentially severe thunderstorms on the cards.
BOM meteorologist Dr Helen Reid warned there was likely plenty more on the way and some wild weather to go with it.
She said Warwick and Southern Downs residents could expect at least 10mm-15mm of rain each day from Wednesday to Friday, with the potential for thunderstorms to send totals soaring.
“That’s what you can expect, but when you have storms happening there’ll be pockets in there that could get 30mm-40mm in the one day,” Dr Reid said.
“Everyone should get a little, but others will get more, and the heavier rain is probably going to all come down at once.
“Thursday is looking more likely to have that shower and storm activity develop, and it’s more likely to be severe with heavy rainfall leading to localised flash flooding, large hail, and damaging winds.”
Temperatures across the region are set to hover in the low- to mid-twenties before a drier weekend.
