The cooler temperatures and shorter days setting in across the weekend can’t put a damper on Warwick’s social calendar, with another jam-packed few days of events lined up across the area.
Ranging from a huge live music launch party to massive sporting clashes and creative workshops, any Rose City resident is sure to find something to suit their tastes this weekend.

INTERSTELLAR MUSIC LAUNCH PARTY
The town’s post-COVID live music scene is set to get a major boost this weekend with the launch party for Interstellar Music at the Warwick RSL.
Featuring Queensland acts such as Annoying Neighbours, Van Moss, and V.Blvq along with UK nationals Brixton Alley, the mini-festival will bring a huge range of genres such as punk rock, rap, and alt-indie to the Kings Theatre stage.
This is an 18+ event. Tickets can be pre-booked or bought at the door.

MORGAN PARK RACEWAY
Round 2C of the Queensland Super Sprint Series will light up Morgan Park Raceway this weekend, with dozens of competitors in a range of cars ready to race against the clock.
Spectators will have free entry to the raceway on Saturday and Sunday, but must complete a COVID check-in upon arrival.
A variety of hot food and drinks will be available from the Pit Stop Cafe over the weekend.

EQUESTRIAN CLINIC
Take an opportunity to learn from one of the best at this weekend’s horse handling clinic with renowned equestrian Steve Halfpenny.
The founder of Light Hands Equitation and Light Hands Horsemanship Program focuses on enhancing communication between a horse and rider, as well as expanding knowledge of the animals’ nature.
Riders will begin the all-day clinic with a mini seminar with Steve Halfpenny before splitting into groups for more hands-on learning.

RUGBY LEAGUE CLASH
Sports fans can check out a Barrett Shield rematch this weekend as the Warwick Cowboys take on the Wattles Warriors in Round 6 of the Toowoomba Rugby League competition.
The match-up will offer a full afternoon and evening of sport with the U18s, C-grade, reserve grade, and A-grade teams all taking to Platz Oval.
The Cowboys ladies’ team will then be in action later in the weekend, facing off against the Dalby Diehards in an away game.

COME-AND-TRY BOXING DAY
Whether you’re looking to brush up on your herding skills or are just getting into the game, this reined cow-horse class at Southern Downs Challenge Horse Club could be the ideal weekend activity.
Starting off with rein work before moving into the faster-paced cattle work or “boxing”, attendees should be able to demonstrate control over a single cow along the short side of an arena by the end of the day.
The clinic will end with an informal boxing class competition to put new skills and knowledge into practice.

DRUM-MAKING WORKSHOP
Wild Sage Collective in Allora is hosting a unique workshop on how to make a Native American-style drum from raw materials.
Led by Tania Clark from Rustic Elements, attendees will learn how to create a “healing medicine drum” using traditional methods and materials, including a 15-inch pine drumframe and rawhide from a deer, goat, or kangaroo.
Ticket-holders should bring their own water bottle, towel, and clothes pegs, with all other materials provided.

PICK YOUR OWN PRODUCE
Applethorpe mainstay Eastern Colour Produce is hosting another of their beloved “pick your own apples and strawberries” weekends.
With plenty of sweet strawberries and fresh Pink Lady apples on offer, the event could prove an opportunity to stock up on fresh produce while supporting one of the region’s own.

DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMAN’S RIDE
The world’s largest charitable on-road event for owners of classic and vintage motorcycles will be hitting Stanthorpe this weekend, with The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride marking its 10th anniversary in 2021.
Funds raised will be donated to research for prostate cancer and men’s mental health on behalf of Movember.
Ballandean State School will also host the Granite Belt Bike and Car Show in conjunction with the main event.

NEW THEATRE PRODUCTION
Stanthorpe’s young creative talents are set to shine in a new production from Stanthorpe Little Theatre Co.
The Isms is led by youth director Lillian Mitchell as well as written and workshopped by junior performers, exploring the hidden barriers and labels within modern society.
Opening night is locked in for this weekend, with a second and final performance scheduled for May 28.

DEGUSTATION AT HERITAGE ESTATE
Granite Belt favourite Heritage Estate Wines is hosting another of its popular Five Senses degustation dinners this weekend.
