Three men are in custody following an alleged spate of crimes occurring across the wider Downs region on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

The trio of alleged offenders – a 33 year old from Texas, a 27 year old from Texas and a 28 year old from Warwick – are understood to be known to police.

While investigations are still continuing as police try to piece together each crime, it is understood the trio will be kept at the Warwick watch-house until they will appear in court.

Police allege that at an unknown time between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, an Isuzu ute was stolen from an address in Newtown, Toowoomba, with keys stolen during a break and enter on the property.

The car was later dumped on Rockdale Rd, near Karara, west of Warwick.

About 4am on Wednesday morning, at Allora, a Mitsubishi ute and five motorbikes were stolen from an address at Maryvale St. The Mitsubishi vehicle was later found on Rockdale Rd.

About 4.30-5am, a Isuzu MUX was stolen from Irongate, northwest of Pittsworth. The vehicle was later found on Millmerran-Leyburn Rd with the keys in the vehicle.

About 6am, security footage at an address on Rockdale Rd, near Karara, caught a number of persons unknown breaking into a house on this road.

It is understood nothing was taken from the home. Police quickly arrived on the scene and located the stolen Mitsubishi vehicle found at the scene.

Police quickly tracked down the three people – who they allege to be responsible for one, or some of the crimes – on Wednesday morning.

One person was located and arrested at 8am on Wednesday at a Glennie Heights address. The second was located a short time later, travelling west from Warwick, and arrested.

The final person, described by police as the “main alleged offender”, drove south over the NSW border in a LandCruiser ute, which police claim was stolen, before reappearing at Killarney.

Soon after arriving at Killarney, the man was involved in a “minor incident” with another vehicle and failed to stop for the other party, police will allege.

The man was later arrested on a property and taken into custody.

Police cannot at this time confirm what the three men arrested on Wednesday morning have been charged with or whether they are involved in all the matters as it is still under investigation.

This spate of possibly connected reported offences come following a busy week for police last week in the region, with police looking into a number of vehicle thefts, including a brazen daylight robbery of a trailer.

Warwick police investigations are continuing.
