Don’t be fooled by Friday’s wet weather, the weekend is expected to be mostly fine (if not a little cold) so get out and enjoy what’s on offer in the Southern Downs.

ALL ABOARD

Those looking for something to do on a rainy Friday, why not take a trip on the popular Downs Explorer.

This journey will take you from Warwick to Toowoomba.

WHEN: Friday, 12pm to 3pm.

WHERE: Warwick Railway Station at Brosnan Crescent, Warwick.

COST: $50 adults, $20 children (5 to 14 years old).

SING-ALONG SHOWDOWN

Put down that hairbrush and put your talent on show at the Kings and Queens Karaoke Night.

WHEN: Saturday, 8pm.

MIND, BODY AND SOUL

This beginners yoga session is designed to help young people connect to their body and take some time out of their stressful lives.

The class is taken Jes from Essence of my Heart and run by Warwick Headspace.

All you need to bring is a towel or yoga mat.

WHEN: Friday, 3.30pm to 4.3pm.

WHERE: Yoga pilates Barre Studio, 75 Fitzroy Street, Warwick.

ALL THAT JAZZ

Add some traditional jazz music to an afternoon of food and wine, with Brisbane band Fine Vintage featuring Mick Power performing live.

Enjoy a three-course lunch while you kick back and relax.

WHEN: Friday and Sunday, all day.

WHERE: Heritage Estate Wine, 747 Granite Belt Drive, Cottonvale.

RUN FOREST RUN

While parkrun is normally a 5km event, this weekend you can go a little further – 42km, if you like.

Parkrun will be offering a pop-up marathon, with the track modified for a half- and full marathon.

All finishers will receive a pop up pin and be listed on the 100 club marathon listing.

WHEN: Saturday, 6.45am.

WHERE: Gleeson Park, Stanthorpe.

COST: $25 for a full-marathon or $20 for a half-marathon.

ROCK ‘N’ ROLL MEETS AEROBICS

If normal aerobics isn’t quite your thing, check out this workshop that combines rock ‘n’ roll, dancing and fitness.

From beginner to advanced level, all are invited to come along, have fun and work out.

Attendees will need to wear smooth-soled shoes, no runners or thongs.

WHEN: Sunday, 12.45pm to 4pm.

WHERE: St Paul’s Anglican Church Hall, 2 Corundum Street, Stanthorpe.

COST: $25.

LONG GOURMET LUNCH

Delight in a five-course menu at the Epicurean Lunch prepared by an international chef and paired with five Heritage Estate Wines.

Each wine is matched to a course to bring out the best flavours in both the food and wine.

SUPER SUNDAY SESSION

Kick back and what the sunset over the vines.

You’ll find great food, wine, and even a bonfire at this relaxed event.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic of food, games or a portable barbecue.

WHEN: Friday and Saturday afternoons from 2pm.

WHERE: Summit Estate Wines, 291 Granite Belt Drive, Thulimbah.

COST: Free.

PEDAL TO THE METAL

Take a trip back in history with vintage cars from the last century.

There will be Ford T models on display, and coffee van and sausage sizzle to keep you going.

WHEN: Saturday 8.30am to 11.30am.

WHERE: Pierpoint Motors, 66 Maryland Street, Stanthorpe

COST: Free.

FAST AND NOT SO FURIOUS

If you love to ride and drive, the Champions Ride Day is for you.

This circuit has a technical layout, heaps of corners and a long, fast straight you’re sure to enjoy.

WHEN: Sunday from 7.30am to 4pm.

WHERE: Morgan Park Raceway, Morgan Park, Warwick.

COST: $200 per person.
