A Lockyer Valley town has been left in shock after a young mum’s sudden death.
Laidley’s Tearra Jade Freeth, known to friends and family as Arra, passed away unexpectedly on April 20 at the age of just 32, leaving behind a 10-year-old son and two-year-old daughter.
More than $4000 has already been raised through a GoFundMe to support her children and help pay for the funeral.
Her sister-in-law Jordan Pryce, who set up the GoFundMe, told this publication on Saturday Ms Freeth had spent years battling lupus, a chronic disease where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacked its own tissues and organs.
Ms Pryce said her children and family were her “whole world”.
“She was very giving, she always gave the best that she could in everything that she did,” she said.
“She was very family orientated, very proud of her family, and all her nieces and nephews – she had 22 nieces and nephews.
“Everything that she did was orientated around her family. She always wanted to make sure we were alright.”
Aside from her children and family, Ms Freeth was reportedly an avid collector of turtle-themed items.
“She was obsessed with turtles, ridiculously obsessed with turtles — not pets, just anything turtle, absolutely everything and anything,” Ms Pryce said.
“Turtle blankets and ornaments, turtle necklaces, turtle clothes.”
Ms Pryce thanked everyone for supporting the GoFundMe, urging loved ones to reflect on her legacy and spirit instead of her tragic passing.
“Arra had an enormous heart. She loved deeply and cared for everyone around her — even those she barely knew,” Ms Pryce wrote.
“She was always asking after others, and her face would light up with joy when hearing good news — you could truly feel the love radiating from her.
“It breaks our hearts to say that she paid the ultimate sacrifice for her family, always putting their needs before her own health and wellbeing.”
Funeral details are expected to be announced in the coming days.
