THE Warwick Rugby League Wall of Legends induction ceremony on Saturday was two weeks early for Australian Army representative player Adam Fisher.

THE Warwick Rugby League Wall of Legends induction ceremony on Saturday was two weeks early for Australian Army representative player Adam Fisher.

The tough forward still has two weeks deployment as a soldier in Afghanistan before he returns home.

He played second row for the Australian Army in a Test curtain-raiser to the Anzac Test last year at Skilled Park.

In the Toowoomba Rugby League competition, Fisher was a feared forward. He tackled anyone not in a Warwick jersey hard and often.

After he joined the army, Fisher returned from Singleton to play for the Cowboys in the 2010 finals series.

On Saturday, his mother Christine Drennert represented him at the induction ceremony.

A letter from her son was read by MC David McIvor at the ceremony.

"When Mum told me about it, I didn't know what to say," he wrote.

"I still don't really. I never expected something like this to happen."

He was glowing in his thanks to the Cowboys for making him the person he is today.

"The club has given me many, if not all of the strengths that I have had to call upon throughout my deployment here in Afghanistan," Fisher wrote.

He also paid tribute to his mother.

"I don't think she's ever missed a game. She's seen the hard work and sacrifices I've had to make over time and I'm sure she's just as proud of this achievement as I am," Fisher wrote.
