RODEO: Warwick cowboy Mitch Eastwell has boosted his chances of winning the rope and tie aggregate with a win in round 3 on Friday night at the Warwick Showgrounds.
Eastwell rode Memphis to a winning time of 9.4 seconds in the Warwick Rodeo APRA National Finals.
While he was happy with the win, Mitch said one little mistake cost him half a second.
The three Eastwell brothers are making a habit of winning rounds at their hometown rodeo.
Last year, Mitch and Brock each won a round and this year Wade won round 1 and Mitch won round 3.
In the past two years, the brothers have four rounds wins out of a possible seven with Mitch and Wade a chance to make it five on Saturday night.
He said the rodeo surface in Warwick was as good as anywhere.
"The crowd is getting bigger each night,” he said.
Mitch is riding Memphis this year after winning a round on Wade's horse LJ last year.
"Memphis was injured at the time of last year's Warwick Rodeo,”
"The win gives me a chance for the aggregate in Warwick.”
