RUGBY LEAGUE: After two seasons playing for Hammersmith in London, Sam Broomhall is back with the Warwick Cowboys.

Originally from Kingaroy, Broomhall joined Brisbane Norths and played four years of colts footy before making his debut in the Queensland Cup.

He won a colts grand final with Warwick pair Dylan Galloway and Dan Murphy.

Trent Richardson was also in the winning team and travelled to Warwick with Broomhall to play with the the Warwick Cowboys in 2016.

After playing with Warwick in the TRL 2016 grand final, Broomhall won two premierships with Hammersmith in the London Premier League.

A qualified plumber, he worked for two years in England and started work this week in Warwick with Condamine Plumbing and Drainage.

"It is exciting to be back in Warwick, the weather is so much better here than in Eng-land,” he said.

His aim this year is to make the TRL finals with the Cowboys in A grade.

"I have been approached to play with one of the Toowoomba Clydesdales team in a curtain raiser to the Broncos game on February 16 in Warwick.

"It will be great to play with the Clydesdales in Warwick.

"I want to go as far as I can in representative footy,” he said.

At age 27, he reckons he will play rugby league for another 10 years.

"I am fit and healthy and you can't keep me away from the footy,” he said.

"I retired one year but, after two months, I caught up with Ben Sullivan in Brisbane and he asked me to play for the Cowboys for the rest of the season.

"I finished the season with Warwick and we went down in the last minute of the 2015 preliminary final.”

The Clydesdales games will be against two Brisbane Wests teams as curtain raisers to the game between NRL team Brisbane Broncos and Intrust Super Cup team Souths Logan Magpies.

Ben Sullivan, Mick Bloomfield and Joe Fuimaono (Warwick), Ty Gardner, Dale Perkins and Jake Hargreaves (Wattles) are also in Clydesdales teams.

The Warwick Cowboys welcome more players to training each Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm at Father Ranger Oval.

The first training run for the year this week attracted 40 players.
