RUGBY LEAGUE: Eight members of the Sullivan family played in the Warwick Cowboys second-division side which beat Stanthorpe 30-22 in a trial game at Father Ranger Oval on Saturday.
Mark Sullivan said all eight were on the field together for 10 minutes midway through the first half.
"Not many people can say they played with their brothers, sons and nephews in the same game," he said.
"We are grateful to the Cowboys for giving us the opportunity to play, it was good we got through without injuries.
"I am glad we didn't take spots from any other player, everyone who turned up for second-division had good field time."
Brothers Mark, Danny and Andrew Sullivan played along with Mark's sons Ben, Billy and Harry and Danny's son Hayden.
Zane Lindsay, the son of Lisa Sullivan, Mark, Danny and Andrew's sister, also played.
All eight played either junior or senior footy for Collegians in Warwick and seven have played for the Cowboys down the years.
Lindsay played Collegians juniors and later for Wallangarra in the Border Rugby League competition.
The Sullivan clan didn't miss out when it came to scoring, Billy scored two tries and Ben one while Mark, Andrew and Hayden all landed goals.
Danny had the biggest gap in his career in Warwick playing for Collegians and then under-18 footy in the first two seasons of the Warwick Cowboys in 1986-1987.
The Sullivans have been thinking about all eight playing together for the past two years.
"We had to wait to Harry turned 17 and then needed the second-division team to have a trial game in which we could all play," he said.
"During the first half, family members filled every backline position and one was in the forwards for a short time."
