Entering its 32nd year of raising vital funds for sick and disadvantaged children, the Variety NSW Bash is set to roll through the Southern Downs in May.
Kickstarting the event in Gunnedah, more than 300 motor enthusiasts will complete a 2400km trek through parts of rural NSW and Queensland.
Having raised more than $95,000 this year, the event will be calling in to rural schools and communities along its route.
Among the more than dozen schools to be awarded, Yangan State School outside of Warwick will receive more than $5000 to go towards educational resources and sporting equipment.
The crew will stop overnight in Warwick before they head to the school on Monday, May 20 to present the award.
Variety NSW and ACT chief executive Tony Warner said the iconic event was about more than just the drive.
“It’s about the incredible people who participate, from seasoned veterans to first-time Bashers, everyone comes together with a shared passion for making a difference in the lives of children,” he said.
The event encourages participants to decorate and theme their vehicles, from Lightening McQueen to Star Wars and many more.
