60+ charges: Man allegedly found with cache of guns, meth, child abuse material refused bail

Police have charged a Toowoomba man with more than 60 offences after allegedly finding modified baby dolls, child abuse material and guns during a three-day property search.

Police have arrested and charged a man after a raid of a Toowoomba home where officers allegedly uncovered sickening homemade child abuse objects, illegal weapons, and large amounts of drugs.

Jason Carl Fisk applied for bail before Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday, July 28, the day after he was charged with 42 offences related to possessing and making child exploitation material, and 29 drug and weapon offences.

Police opposed Mr Fisk’s application, and bail was formally refused by magistrate Mark Howden.

Police executed a search warrant of the 49-year-old’s home on July 16, however it took officers three days to search through his cluttered property.

Inside, the court was told officers found two dolls that looked like infants, which police allege Mr Fisk modified and used for sexual gratification.

One of the dolls was just the head of a baby.

Police allegedly found more than 250 files of child abuse material, some of which included footage of Mr Fisk having sex with the dolls.

However, the court was told officers were yet to finish sifting through all of Mr Fisk’s hard drives, so more charges may be laid in the coming days.

Police allegedly found a number of drugs and weapons in the home, which included 14 firearms, 16g of meth, 50 grams of testosterone, a 3D printed gun silencer, 1147g of ammunition rounds, 250 grams of gunpowder, and a how-to guide to cooking meth.

In objecting to Mr Fisk’s bail application, Mr Howden noted the alleged items would have been amassed over a short period of time, as Mr Fisk’s was released from prison about a year ago.

He noted Mr Fisk was working in the community and owned his own home, which were factors in his favour, however he had no information or reports that could speak to his mental state.

Mr Howden said given the serious nature of the alleged offending and the strength of the police case, if Mr Fisk were released, the risk of reoffending was too high.

Mr Fisk was remanded in custody, and a brief of evidence was ordered.

His matter will next be mentioned before the Toowoomba Magistrate Court on September 15.
Mr Fisk has the following charges before the court; possessing and making child abuse material, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing relevant substances, unlawful possession of weapons, possession of a Schedule 1 drug quantity exceeding Schedule 3, publishing or possessing instructions for producing dangerous drugs, storage measures and other precautions about access to restricted items, authority required to possess explosives, offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons, possess drug utensils and fail to properly dispose of needle and syringe and possess tainted property.
