A young Warwick businesswoman set to open the doors to her beauty salon at the thriving Parmalat precinct hopes the launch will boost her career to new heights.
Shakii Clarkson will open Sassy Little Beauty in a new space at the Victoria Street business precinct in just under two weeks.
The 20-year-old said she was inspired to kickstart her own venture after struggling to find work in the industry.
“There aren’t many beauty salons in Warwick and they don’t really hire, most of them work on their own,” she said.
The beauty therapist had been operating out of Wild Sage Collective in Allora or her temporary home salon in Warwick since opening in January.
Miss Clarkson said she’d always wanted to establish a shop front in Warwick, and knew the thriving Parmalat precinct would be the perfect opportunity.
“I wanted to move back to Warwick, I didn’t want them driving too far to come here,” she said.
Sassy Little Beauty offers a range of services including facials and waxing, lash lifts or tints, and spray tans.
Miss Clarkson said her business allowed her to turn her passion into a profession, and she hoped to expand into makeup artistry in the future.
“I like making people feel good about themselves. It’s about helping them to live a happy life and offering self-love,” she said.
Proud mother Tammy Clarkson said she couldn’t wait for her daughter’s grand opening and was excited to see where she would go next.
“She’s good at what she does, it’s just what she wants to be and would do anything to keep it going,” she said.
Inspired by her tenacity and short stature, the young Miss Clarkson and her mother brainstormed ideas for the name of her business and settled on Sassy Little Beauty.
“Mum came up with sassy because it goes with my personality and I’m little so it just worked well,” Miss Clarkson said.
Miss Clarkson said the finishing touches would be put on the salon in the next two weeks, such as furniture and flooring.
Sassy Little Beauty located at 145A Victoria Street, Warwick is set to open on November 1.
Its opening hours will be 9am to 4pm from Monday - Wednesday and Friday, 9am to 7pm on Thursday, and 9am to midday on Saturday.
