A KEEN surfer, new Scots PGC principal Kyle Thompson is a big fan of his new town.

While there is a distinct lack of waves in the Rose City, Mr Thompson said he had been blown away by the friendly reception he and wife Janine had received.

"Warwick people are so real,” he said.

"There's a real genuineness to them and they're keen for you to become a part of community.”

Mr Thompson said came to the school at the end of the 2017 school year.

"I'm very glad I did that,” he said.

"It gave me a great grounding of what to expect this year. I met teachers and students and learned how the school operated.”

Mr Thompson said Scots was a beautiful school.

"It has a very strong standing in the local community and in wider educational circles as well.

"This year I want to see Scots PGC College be proud of who it is, know what it stands for and produce great kids who go onto succeed in their chosen pathway. Be that academic, agricultural, vocational, cultural or sporting.

"This school is the best kept secret in education”
