Pratten fire: Prepare to leave warning issued as Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews responding to worsening fire

Conditions have worsened and a fire near Pratten in the Southern Downs has grown, with authorities issuing a prepare to leave alert to residents. Here's the latest.

RFS warns of a significant grass fire season across NSW

Emergency services are currently responding to a vegetation fire at Pratten, with crews on the scene battling the blaze with a prepare to leave warning issued to residents between Leyburn Cunningham Rd, Oleary Rd, Fontainbleau Rd and Ryeford Pratten Rd.

Just before 3pm Wednesday, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services updated their warning on the fire at Pratten, raising to a prepare to leave level.

Authorities have told residents in the vicinity of the fire at Leyburn-Cunningham Road there was a heightened level of threat, and residents should be prepared to leave as the condition of the fire changed.

The fire is currently moving rapidly towards the area of towards Oleary and Ryeford Pratten roads.

Emergency services were first called to the fire at 10.15am Wednesday morning off Condamine River Rd and Leyburn-Cunningham Rd, Pratten.

Firefighters on the ground requested a water bomber to help contain and tame the blaze.

QFES reported at 10.35am the fire was solely affecting vegetation and was approximately 500m long.

At 11.20am, QFES released a stay informed notice regarding the blaze, notifying that there was currently no immediate danger.

Residents are urged to keep up to date with the situation and plan in case the situation changes.
