Warwick Cowboys, netball, gymnastics: Start dates for Warwick major sports in 2023 revealed
With the end of the school holidays fast approaching, here’s your guide to when all the action will commence for a big year in sport. From A-grade clubs, to social sport and even juniors, there is something for everyone and all abilities.

The school holidays coming to an end means only one thing: Sport is coming back to Warwick and restarting for another year.
As the Rose City begins to prepare for the sport season to kick off, Warwick Daily News has all the important dates you need to know for the sporting year ahead.
Rugby league
Colin Speed’s Cowboys are gearing up for their 2023 campaign in the TRL, with the top boss feeling “very confident” after a summer of big signings.
The pre-season trial games begin in March, against Marist Brothers, Kyogle Turkeys and a Barrett Shield Clash against Wattles Warriors.
Registration is now open for players, coaches, referees and volunteers across all levels.

Rugby union
The Water Rats are hoping their 2023 season is a success, with training kicking off late January at Risdon Oval.
The Warwick rugby union club is beginning their senior men’s training on Tuesday January 24, with both old and new players welcome.

Netball
Senior netball is returning again this year in February, with registrations now open.
Whether you’re looking for a competitive game or purely social, Warwick netball has something for all ages (above 14 years) and skill levels.

Boxing
Warwick Boxing Club is beginning its fitness classes again in the new year, with all abilities welcome to give the sport a try.
Classes are on weekly and are for all ages (10 years and older) and new boxers are able to have a week trial to see if they like the sport before purchasing a membership.

Junior rugby league
The Collegians Dragons are back after a massive 2022 featuring massive two grand final victories at Tenterfield for the under-15 and under-17 sides.
The call has come out to join in the new year, with two sign-on days coming in the coming weeks. Under 13 to 17 will be on January 31, and under 6 to 12 teams will be on February 7.

Gymnastics
Warwick gymnastics club is holding its annual sign on day Sunday, January 22 from 9am-11am.
The club boasts competition standard equipment and holds classes six days a week for competitive and recreational gymnasts alike, so there is something for all levels and abilities.
Come down this Sunday to meet the team and find the perfect fit for your little gymnasts.

Taekwondo
Taekwondo is kicking off in 2023, with training beginning on January 19 at 6pm.
