Police have named a man wanted for questioning over a shocking daylight shooting in Warwick last week as part of an appeal for information from the public.
Officers believe former Warwick man Jackson Watson, 26, may be able to assist police with their open investigation into the violent incident.
It is alleged the shooting took place at about 9.20am on Wallace St last Tuesday, when a small silver hatchback or sedan pulled up beside Warwick man Jason Martin and another man in the vehicle shot the 37-year-old victim in the stomach.
Mr Martin was first taken to Warwick Hospital by family before being flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane for surgery.
A statement from the Queensland Police Service said Mr Watson was known to frequent the Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Warwick, and Texas areas and could be armed.
“Police consider him to be dangerous and the public should not approach him if sighted, but contact triple-0 immediately,” it read.
“Police would particularly like to appeal to any associates of Jackson or anyone who may know his whereabouts to make immediate contact.”
Mr Watson is described as caucasian, approximately 170cm tall with a proportionate build, brown hair, and brown eyes.
Investigations are ongoing and no one has been taken into custody or charged in relation to the shooting.
Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Warwick police on 4660 4444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
