A Warwick man accused of murdering another man with a sword has had his matter listed for a committal hearing.
Dwayne Thomas Andrew Watts was not required to appear in person when his case was mentioned in Warwick Magistrates Court this week.
He faces one charge each of murder, breaching a bail condition, and mid-range drink driving.
It is alleged the 30-year-old killed fellow Warwick man Mark Ireland with a “long-bladed weapon” during an altercation at a Hope St home in September 2020.
Mr Ireland died from head and facial injuries aged 54.
Defence lawyer Clare Hine said she’d finalised her application to cross-examine the prosecution witnesses, and was now seeking to set a date for her client’s committal hearing.
The committal proceedings have been listed in Warwick Magistrates Court on June 16 and 17.
Mr Watts will be remanded in custody until that date, when his appearance will be required in the courtroom.
