Australian man sentenced to jail following ‘act of religious hostility’

New details have emerged on the initial investigation into a dead body that was found at the Warwick police station.

Police say Warwick officers made the gruesome discovery just before 8.30am on Sunday when they located the man, aged in his 50s, inside a vehicle parked outside the Fitzroy St station.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the circumstances of the man’s death were still under investigation, with a report to be prepared for the coroner.

The spokesman could not confirm how long the man’s body may have been in the vehicle.

The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

Several police cars were parked around the scene earlier on Sunday afternoon and officers were patrolling the street to ward off pedestrians.

Fitzroy St was also closed to traffic between Palmerin and Guy Sts for several hours.

The shocking death comes only weeks after a man’s body was found in a car parked near busy Warwick supermarket Spano’s IGA.

More to come.
