CRIME WRAP: Drug driver, speedsters busted by Warwick police

A string of alleged offenders are due to front court over incidents in Warwick over the past couple of days, including a drug driver, a man driving without a licence and an elderly man caught speeding.

Warwick police acting officer-in-charge Shane Reid said a 34-year-old woman returned a positive drug reading on Tuesday.

Senior Sergeant Reid said the woman was busted at 7.45pm on Cleary Street, and will appear in Warwick Magistrates Court at a later date.

A Warwick man was allegedly caught with a glass pipe in his car on Wednesday at 9.55pm on Bracker Road.

The 41-year-old was issued with a notice to appear in Warwick Magistrates Court for possessing drug utensils.

Sergeant Reid said police issued 13 speeding fines between Tuesday and Thursday.

A 72-year-old man was clocked going 81km in a 60 zone on Alexandra Drive at 12.47pm on Wednesday.

The Brisbane man was fined $444 and lost four demerit points for driving 20km over the speed limit.

Eleven drivers were also caught speeding between 13km and 20km above the speed limit. One was busted over the general speed limit.

At 3pm on Wednesday in Guy Street a 27-year-old man was allegedly caught driving without a licence.

The Warwick man was issued an infringement notice by police.

Sergeant Reid said hooning continues to be a problem around town, with people advised to contact Policelink on 131 444 if they see or hear of any hooning offences.
