WARWICKITES are being given the chance to play Santa Clause to the men and women serving in Afghanistan this Christmas by donating money and gifts for the care packages.
Former solider Johno Felton said donations where being collected at the Westpac branch on Palmerin St.
"People can come on down to Westpac and make a money donation or put some items in the trolley," he said.
"Their favourite items are soaps, hand wash and any tins of Australian food."
Mr Felton said the Army Reserve team were already working to put the packages together.
"They really appreciate Christmas cards from the kids as well," he said.
Mr Felton wanted to thank the knitting ladies from Akooramak for their handmade beanies, the RSL and Veteran Support and Advocacy Service Australia. More than 100 care packages have already been sent this year.
