One man arrested over terrifying armed robbery of Warwick store

An armed thief didn’t bargain for a chainsaw shop owner to follow him into his waiting getaway car before the situation became even more terrifying.

Warwick police have arrested one man and are continuing their investigation into a terrifying daylight robbery at a suburban business.

Police will allege about 1.20pm on Thursday a man has entered Warwick Chainsaws, stealing an item from the store and attempting to flea in a vehicle parked outside.

It is believed the shop owner, who alerted police to the incident, followed the man outside and entered the getaway car to confront the thief.

It’s further alleged a male in the vehicle has threatened the shop owner with a knife, who then exited the vehicle before it then sped off.

Later that afternoon Warwick Police located and charged a 42-year-old Cottonvale man with armed robbery in company and supplying a dangerous drug.

Police investigations are ongoing and anyone with information in relation to the incident is urged to contact Warwick Police.
