Two drivers stung by police appeared in Warwick Magistrates Court on June 17, 2024.

Lee Walter Scott was busted at Elbow Valley by local police on April 2, 2024.

Police prosecutor Sgt Steve de Lissa told the court the Keogh Rd sting intercepted Scott who was tested at the scene for drugs.

Officers found traces of MDMA, cannabis and cocaine in the man’s saliva, Sgt de Lissa said.

Scott, unrepresented, told the court he had “interesting circumstances” with his work in the events industry.

The part-time musician and gig worker said he “wasn’t intending to leave the grounds of the festival”.

Scott pleaded guilty to one charge of drug driving on Monday.

He was given a $200 fine and taken off the road for a period of one month.

A conviction was recorded.

On the morning of April 1, 2024, Flynn Allen Muir was busted leaving the festival in the police operation on Keogh Rd at Elbow Valley.

Officers then found traces of MDMA and cannabis in his saliva, Sgt de Lissa said.

Muir told Judge Janice Crawford the matter was an “isolated incident” when he appeared in court unrepresented.

“I want you to know I ingested the substances one day before my 11-hour journey home without considering it would still be detectable in my system, I am committed to ensuring this will not happen in the future,” Muir said.

Muir pleaded guilty to one count of drug driving on Monday.

Muir received a $350 fine and was suspended from driving for one month.

A conviction was recorded.
