Dozens of fire crews battle bushfire in thick scrub, southwest of Warwick
Firefighters are working to contain a rural fire that is threatening property and has the potential to make the situation far worse. Here’s what we know so far.

While most of the country was celebrating Australia Day, dozens of Rural Fire Service volunteers were called to fight a scrub fire burning in thick bushland near Coolmunda Dam.
The crew arrived at the fire ground near the intersection of the Cunningham Highway and Stanthorpe – Inglewood Road about 2.45pm.
At least eight ground crews are at the scene and are waiting for a bulldozer to clear a firebreak through The Scrub.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the fire was threatening a stack of used car tyres.
The incident comes after a similar number of fire crews were called to a nearby blaze at Bonshaw where water bombers were required to extinguish the flames.
At least two homes were under threat at Bonshaw.
