A Warwick man has been arrested after being busted by police hiding in a cupboard with drugs, and businesses across the region have been targeted by thieves.
Here’s what you’ve missed in the last seven days.
DRUG MATTERS
A 32-year-old Warwick man has appeared in court after police went to a Cleary Street address and located him hiding in a cupboard.
An amount of methylamphetamine and a pipe was found in his possession.
He was charged with drug charges as well as a number of outstanding matters and has been remanded in custody until March.
He will appear in court next month.
Police went to an address and located a 34-year-old Warwick man who was wanted on February 22. He was found in possession of a quantity of methylamphetamine and drug utensils and well as ammunition.
He was charged with possession of these items and other offences and will appear in Warwick Magistrates Court in March.
WILFUL DAMAGE
A 24-year-old Mt Colliery man was charged with damage to a house and a vehicle along with obstructing police after police were called to a disturbance at a Coe Street residence at about 1pm on February 19.
BREAK AND ENTERS
Police received a report that entry was forced to a trailer at a motorcycle shop at Betta Place and a quantity of tools and other items were stolen in recent weeks. Police are examining CCTV in the area in relation to this offence.
Police are investigating after two football clubhouses on Jackie Howe Drive were entered overnight on February 22. Damage was caused by forcing entry however, it appears no property was stolen.
A service station on the Cunningham Highway north of Warwick was broken into and entered overnight on Saturday by forcing the rear door open. A quantity of items were stolen and police are examining CCTV in relation to the matter.
Police are warning residents to make sure their vehicles are locked and secured after receiving a report from a resident at Ridgeview Road that he had disturbed two offenders trying to break into his vehicle parked at the front of his residence at about 4.30am.
Police later received a report that a house had been subject to an attempted unlawful entry after an offender attempted to force the rear door of the residence on Stewart Ave sometime during the morning of Sunday.
TRAFFIC MATTERS
Police intercepted a driver on New England Highway south of Warwick at about 1pm on Sunday and conducted a saliva test.
As a result, a 45-year-old Forestdale man will appear in court for drug driving in coming weeks.
