A couple accused of kidnapping a young Warwick woman and holding her captive while she was raped and tortured for hours have had their matters returned to the court.

Family members of the alleged victim sat in the gallery as the matters of the Gatton man, aged in his 50s, and Warwick woman, aged in her 40s, were mentioned in Warwick Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested in February and charged with a raft of serious offences including rape, bestiality, torture, kidnapping, extortion, robbery and assault.

They have both been in custody since their arrest, with the woman denied bail on March 1.
The man has not made an application for bail.

During this week’s proceedings it was heard police had prepared an “extensive” brief of evidence that outlined the case against the duo.

Police claim the man went to the 22-year-old alleged victim’s home on February 25 and ordered her into his car before taking her back to his co-accused’s house.

The pair then allegedly held the young woman against her will and tortured her over a period of hours.

Police will allege the man bashed the alleged victim’s legs with a metal pole while the woman held a knife to the younger woman’s throat.

It will also be alleged the Gatton man raped the young woman both digitally and with his penis, and the Warwick woman then used a male pitbull dog to rape her while her co-accused filmed it on his phone.

During the couple’s first appearance last month, the court was told the pair allegedly forced the woman to call the police station to leave a false confession over another matter before they released her.
A search of the home where the alleged crimes were carried out uncovered a bracelet believed to belong to the woman, and a graphic recording of the horrifying ordeal.

The court heard a Legal Aid application had been submitted for the woman and both she and her co-accused would remain in custody until their next court appearance.

The matter is set to return to the court on May 4.
