Two people dead in separate accidents on Sunshine Coast
A three-vehicle crash has blocked lanes at Strathpine north of Brisbane. It follows a fatal crash on the Sunshine Coast overnight when a vehicle plunged into a river.

A THREE-vehicle crash has left lanes blocked and police diverting traffic at Strathpine north of Brisbane.
Police were called about 12.15pm, with one vehicle catching fire at the intersection of Gympie and Kremzow roads.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the fire, however traffic delays continued as police diverted traffic, and delays were expected.
Two patients were transported in a stable condition to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Police are conducting forensic crash investigations to determine the cause of the crash.
Another traffic incident in Andergrove, outside Mackay, saw four people taken to hospital in a stable condition following a crash on Maple Drive about 11.50am
Of the four people, two were children of unknown gender and one of the adults was a female of unknown age.
The four were transported to Mackay Hospital.
And police are investigating after a woman died when the car she was travelling in plunged into the Noosa River last night.
The incident happened at Noosa North Shore about 9.15pm as a 4WD approached the ferry landing of the Noosa River on Maximillian Rd.
Police say the vehicle failed to stop and plunged into the river.
The driver, a 67-year-old Southport man, has managed to get out of the vehicle.
The sole passenger, a 69-year-old woman Wongawallan, on the Gold Coast, died at the scene.
Meanwhile, early this morning, a pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on the Sunshine Motorway at Mountain Creek.
Police say the 38-year-old Logan man was walking west in the east bound lane of the motorway near the Kawana Way exit about 12.30am.
A sedan that was traveling east struck the man and he died at the scene.
The driver of the sedan was not physically injured in the incident.
Forensic Crash Unit Investigations are continuing.
