Tributes flow for Nathaniel ‘Bull’ Frampton killed in tragic Townsville crash

Family and friends of a young man killed in a horror crash early on Sunday morning have remembered him as a good mate on and off the baseball field.

Nathaniel ‘Bull’ Frampton, 23, from Bushland Beach, was an avid baseball player and fishing enthusiast.

He died during the early hours of Sunday morning after the car he was a passenger in, veered off Townsville Ring Road and crashed through a fence, stopping near Angus Smith Drive in Douglas.

Friends and teammates have shared their shock and grief on Facebook after waking to the tragic news.

“I just can’t believe you’re gone,” wrote Jasmine Gourley.

“Rest easy mate Bull Frampton you will definitely be missed,” posted Nakayla Curtis.

“My heart is so broken. You will always be my first best friend,” said Tamia Morrison.

The Avengers Baseball Club, Townsville Baseball Umpires Association and Baseball Association Townsville also paid their respects to their former player.

“Bull played for the Avengers for 3 years … I would like to offer our deepest condolences to Nathaniel’s family and friends, particularly Gary and Bulls sister Ash – I know he will be missed,” said the Townsville Avengers Baseball Club.

“Unfortunately we lost a good mate on and off the field last night …‘Bull’ always played the game in good spirits and would carry that over off the field as well. You will be missed mate.

“Our thoughts go out to Nathaniel’s family and friends.

“Rest In Peace Bull.”

Mr Frampton leaves behind his father Gary, his father’s partner Myee Felton, and his sister Ash.

A 25-year-old Nome man was also taken to Townsville University Hospital following the fatal crash.
He was last in a serious but stable condition, with back and pelvic injuries.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
