Channel 9 reported that the three girls were exploring the tunnel before one of them became claustrophobic.
A call was made to emergency services at around 3:25pm.
A police officer was first on scene and entered the drain, crawling through the tunnel and calming the girls.
Police officer Benjamin Reeve told Channel 9, “the dog squad officer did a fantastic job locating them, it was crawl space only so he couldn’t stand up,” Mr Reeve said.
Firefighters were at the scene around 3:50pm and had the trio out by 4:15pm.
A QFES spokesman said firefighters opened a grate to the drain and used a ladder to help the three girls escape.
They were reunited with their families just after.
