THE founder of an Australian suicide prevention charity says sales have soared after Chris Hemsworth was spotted wearing one of their jumpers.
The Hollywood hunk wore a grey hoodie with the words LIVIN while on set in Brisbane for the filming of Thor: Ragnarok.
The Livin Charity was founded by Casey Lyons and Sam Webb in September 2013 after friends and family members took their own lives after struggles with mental illness.
The group uses clothing and motivational events to promote the message “it ain’t weak to speak”, in a bid to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness.
Mr Lyons told The Courier-Mail it was overwhelming to see Hemsworth wearing one of their jumpers on set.
“You can’t really put it into words,” he said.
Mr Lyons said one of his friends had been wearing a similar jumping while working on the Thor set on the Gold Coast a few weeks ago.
“Chris liked the look of it and said ‘that’s a cool shirt’,” he said.
“When he heard the message behind it he was more than happy to help support it.”
Mr Lyons said jumper sales had already soared in the few hours since Hemsworth had been spotted in The Livin Charity apparel.
“We’re up a lot more sales than normal,” he said.
