The Weeknd has postponed his Australian tour citing “unforeseen circumstances”.
The Canadian artist, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, was due to hit Aussie shores on Monday, November 20 for his After Hours Til Dawn tour when he was scheduled to perform at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
A second Brisbane date was scheduled for Tuesday, November 21.
His Melbourne and Sydney shows have also been postponed.
Tickets bought for his November tour days will be valid for the rescheduled dates in 2024, with refunds for those who can’t attend.
The news has come after a statement from the artist was released:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we must reschedule the Australia/New Zealand tour. New dates will be announced next year, and current tickets will be valid for the new shows. Refunds will be available for those unable to attend the new dates. Deeply disappointed but can’t wait to be there with you!”
Ticket holders have taken to social media to share their frustrations over the sudden cancellation.
“We’ve been through hell just to purchase and secure tickets then they’ll just going to cancel it with no apparent reason?!,” Brisbane resident Kolin Rodriguez wrote.
