Grammy Award-winning singer The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye has announced a new Brisbane date for his upcoming After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour following high demand for tickets.
Just one week after announcing a Brisbane tour it has been revealed fans will now have another opportunity to see the Blinding Lights singer live after Livenation released three new shows – one each in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to his nationwide tour, launching in Queensland on November 20.
The Weeknd was already set to perform at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Monday November 20, but after an overwhelming demand for tickets, has now added a second show at Suncorp on Tuesday November 21.
Additional shows were announced in Sydney at Accord Stadium on November 25 and in Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on December 2.
Foxtel Rewards members can purchase exclusive reserved tickets on September 1 at 10am, coinciding with the general public tickets going on sale the same day – in Melbourne at 10am, Brisbane at 11am and Sydney at 12pm.
Having already wowed North America and wrapping up a triumphant European leg, The Weeknd is poised to make a splash in Latin America in September before serenading Aussie fans.
While Brisbane bags the prestigious opener, Sydney’s Accor Stadium and Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium will follow on November 24 and December 1, respectively, ending the tour in Auckland’s Eden Park on December 7.
Although the Grammy award winner delivered a showstopping performance in Australia back in 2017, Tesfaye has never played stadiums in this country – until now.
The 33-year-old Canadian singer’s tour, dubbed After Hours Til Dawn, celebrates his monumental fourth and fifth albums, After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022).
The After Hours Til Dawn tour has already raked in a staggering $US350 million as of July, surpassing Michael Jackson’s iconic HIStory World Tour, making it the highest-grossing tour by a black artist.
In recent years, The Weeknd has also headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2021 and showcased his versatility, producing and starring in the TV show The Idol which premiered earlier this year.
Pre-sale tickets go on sale on Friday August 25 to Vodafone customers, which will open to Melbourne customers at 10am, Brisbane at 11am and Sydney at 12pm.
