The Beat Megaclub will scale back to only one bar while The Met will close entirely for the time being, as a ban on gatherings of 100 people or more comes into effect.

“Effective from today The Beat Megaclub will only be operating its Black Marble Bar,” the club posted to its Facebook page.
“For the safety of our patrons and staff we are only permitted a maximum occupancy of 100 persons.”
The post also urged anyone with flu-like symptoms not to visit the venue and to self-isolate.
The Beat is one of Brisbane’s largest clubs, with more than a half-dozen bars, and has become particularly popular with the city’s LGBTQ+ scene.
The Met also posted to its page that it was taking action due to the “ever-evolving situation.”
“With this information, we have made the decision to close our doors for this coming weekend,” the club posted to its Facebook.
“Thank you for the support, stay safe, and we look forward to reopening our doors soon.”
Rics Bar, another longstanding institution along Brunswick St, has however insisted it is staying open.
“We would like to let you know that we are still remaining open as usual,” the venue posted on its Facebook
