Driver escapes serious injury in dramatic Eerwah Vale truck rollover

In the third crash on Sunshine Coast roads in a 12-hour period, a clean-up is underway following a truck rollover that has blocked a rural road. See the dramatic pictures.

A truck driver has escaped serious injuries in a rollover that spread debris over a rural road.

It is the third major crash on Sunshine Coast roads in a 12-hour period and six people have been injured in the incidents.

Emergency services were called to a B-double rollover at the intersection of Coleus and Eumundi-Kenilworth roads at Eerwah Vale about 2pm.

The truck, which appeared to be carrying a load of dirt, was blocking a road.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said traffic diversions were in place and officers were controlling the scene.

The truck driver, a man in his 40s, was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with leg injuries.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said a crew would remain at the crash until the truck was back on its wheels and a clean-up was underway.

This is the third crash in a day on Sunshine Coast roads.

Earlier, four people were treated for injuries at the scene of a dramatic car crash on a busy road in Maroochydore on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were called to the two vehicle crash at Main Rd and Maroochydore Rd at 8.10am.

One driver, a woman in her 30s suffered a lower leg injury and the driver of the second car, a woman in her 70s, was experiencing chest pain.

They were taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.

Two young children were also assessed by paramedics. One child was treated for back pain and taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the forensic crash unit was still on scene at 10.30am investigating what caused the crash.

In a third incident, a motorbike rider was rushed to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition, with significant leg and arm injuries, following a two-vehicle crash in Peregian Beach.
