Top scoring ATAR students among Sunshine Coast schools 2024

Schools across the Sunshine Coast have congratulated their high achieving students who earned incredible ATAR scores this year.

Year 12 graduates across the Sunshine Coast have achieved incredible ATAR results this year, with many schools celebrating outstanding outcomes for their whole cohort.

Many schools across the region shared their top academic achievers’ ATAR scores on social media to wholeheartedly congratulate them and share the good news with the community.

Here are some of the most outstanding ATAR results from Sunshine Coast schools:

Matthew Flinders Anglican CollegeThe Buderim school announced their 2024 dux Aidan Chumbly to have earned the school’s top ATAR score of 99.95, one of only 36 in the state to achieve the ranking.

The school noted on their Facebook it is the fifth year a college student has achieved such a score since the ATAR system was introduced in 2020, claiming it is the only Sunshine Coast school to have done so.

Students Samantha Lovely, Daniel Probert and Apanie Pow also achieved an ATAR above 99, securing a spot in the top 1 per cent in Queensland.

Additionally, 12 students achieved 98 or above and 25 scored 95 or above.

Over all, the median ATAR for the college’s Year 12 students was 89.28, placing half of the cohort in the top 10 per cent.

Matthew Flinders Anglican College principal Michelle Carroll said the schools is proud of the cohort’s results, which reflected “their commitment to academic endeavour” and the quality of teaching given to students.

“Along their schooling journey, they have been well supported by their teachers and mentors at Flinders to enable their growth into fine young adults with the character, skills and limitless potential to make a positive impact in the world,” Ms Carroll said.

“My hope is that our graduates will continue to do themselves proud by living a positive life of character with humility, empathy and integrity.”

Sunshine Coast Grammar School

Six students scored in the top 1 per cent of the state this year attaining an ATAR of 99 or above, with a large percentage of the cohort scoring an 80 or above.

Sunshine Coast Grammar School Principal Anna Owen, expressed her pride in the graduating cohort, acknowledging their remarkable accomplishments as a testament to the school’s high-quality education and supportive learning environment.

“The Class of 2024 has truly excelled, demonstrating their ability to rise to the challenge and achieve at the highest level. These results are a reflection of our students’ hard work, the expertise and commitment of our dedicated staff, and the support of families who have journeyed alongside them,” Ms Owen said.

Immanuel Lutheran College

The college congratulated their 2024 dux Remy Pridham for achieving an ATAR score of 99.5 and securing an early offer to study Advanced Finance and Economics at the University of Queensland.

Unity College

Unity College announced on social media 18 per cent of the cohort’s eligible ATAR students achieved a score of 90 or above.

Good Shepherd Lutheran College

The Noosaville school revealed 22, or 30 per cent, of Year 12 students received a score of 90 or above, with three students achieving 98 or beyond.

Turning to the remainder of the cohort, 46 students, or 63 per cent, earned an ATAR score of 80 or above.

Pacific Lutheran College

Pacific Lutheran College congratulated their dux Ayanna Nath for her ATAR score of 97.9 on social media.

Of students which allowed the school to share their result, four received a rank of 95 or above, nine received 90 or above and 47 per cent of the cohort achieved an ATAR score above 80.

St Teresa’s Catholic College

The school gave a special shout out to their Year 12 student who received a score of 99, the highest ATAR of the cohort.

Thirty-four per cent of Year 12 students went past the 90 mark and 17 per cent of students achieved a 95 or above.

Noosa District State High School announced their 2024 dux Trishali Lal led the school’s ATAR scores, achieving a 99.15 ranking.

Chancellor State College

The Sippy Downs college congratulated Year 12 students Tinko, Charlie and Zoe who achieved scores of 99.45, 98.65 and 98.1 respectively.

Coolum State High School

The school broke down the Year 12 cohort’s ATAR scores with 25 per cent of students achieving 90 or above with six students scoring above 99, the highest of which receiving a 99.80 ATAR.

Caloundra State High School contributed Aleksey V’s ATAR score of 98.5 to his “discipline and unwavering focus” on social media.

They also announced a “significant number” of Year 12s scored above 90, including Charlie W, Amryn P, Myles E, Elsie S, Cayden D, Dylan S, Travis A and Jayda R.

Nambour State College

The college announced their 2024 dux Akemi Evans scored a 99.7 and his hoping to study medicine at UQ.

She is followed by Sofia Levis-Espositio, who received a 94.95 score and has been accepted into an environmental science degree at USC.

Trae Brooks was congratulated for his score of 99.7, who will start a Bachelor of Biomedical Science.
