Thai Thyme Sunshine Pty Ltd liquidated after restaurant closure

A beloved Thai restaurant’s shocking closure has culminated in liquidation months after it shut its doors on diners without explanation.

The company behind a popular Sunshine Coast restaurant has entered liquidation, following the store’s mysterious closure earlier this year.

The company, Thai Thyme Sunshine Pty Ltd, traded under a business named Come By Thai Thyme, according to the Australia Business Register.

Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents showed the company was placed in voluntary liquidation earlier this month, following a general meeting with the company’s members.

The ASIC notice also showed the company operated under another business name, Thai Thyme Sunshine Plaza.

Social media posts showed the Sunshine Plaza store closed without explanation in March this year.

According to ASIC documents, the company was first registered in January 2018 and operated from an address in Springfield.

The director since the company’s establishment is recorded on the ASIC files as News South Wales man, Rungtiva Tipsuk.

Liquidator with WLP Restructuring, Alan Lee Walker, was appointed to complete the company’s winding up on December 1, 2025.

Attempts to contact Thai Thyme were made by this publication.

The restaurant’s website has been deleted and it had not posted on social media since 2020.

Liquidator Mr Walker was also contacted by this publication for comment.
