A JOB in the new cinemas at Kawana Shoppingworld was just what 20-year-old Buderim local Tayla Dangerfield was looking for.

The third-year psychology and criminology student at the University of the Sunshine Coast said she wanted a job that was enjoyable while she juggled her full-time studies.

She's one of about 70 staff who will work at Event Cinemas in Kawana Shoppingworld when it opens on November 29.

She'd previously worked in hospitality and retail and is a movie lover.

Tayla said the hiring process, which was attended by over 1000 hopefuls at Lake Kawana recently, had been "awesome".

"I love the movies and when I heard about the Gold Class experience I thought it'd be a really cool job," she said.

"It's going to be a really fun environment.

"When I'm not studying I want to be able to enjoy my time."

She said she was a lover of "literally anything with Leonardo Di Caprio" and her favourite film at the moment was The Great Gatsby.
