From a cosy hinterland paradise to Noosa’s renowned beachfront mansions, Sunshine Coast’s massive and lavish homes churned out huge profit after some multimillion-dollar deals in 2023.

Sunshine Beach has been crowned Queensland’s most expensive suburb when it comes to buying a house with a median value of $2,955,600 in 2023’s last quarter.

The median price increased by 3.41 per cent in the past three months and 1.68 per cent since 2022.

The suburb beat other pricey areas in Queensland by at least $300,000 including Surfers Paradise, Mermaid Beach and New Farm.

Other recent popular choices that came with a steep price tag were Maleny and Bald Knob properties and gorgeous waterfront homes in Minyama, Buddina and Bokarina.

The Noosa region, with its homes featuring stunning beach and river views and designed by renowned designers and architects, also sold for millions.

SOLD FOR: $28m

A five-bedroom, four-bathroom house by architect Geoffrey Pie and David Teeland on a 3520sq m property.

The two-storey home boasts a 62m beach frontage to view from multiple terraces as surrounding nature helps evoke a sense of privacy.

The property was sold by Tom Offermann Real Estate on September 1, 2023.

The sale came with huge profit after it was last bought for just $200,000 in 1987, with the current house built two years later.

The property became the state’s most expensive residential sale of 2023 and ranks as the third-biggest sale in Queensland’s history.
