Follow live results as residents in the electorate of Fairfax cast their votes in the 2025 federal election.

LNP’s Ted O’Brien has held the seat of Fairfax since 2016, retaining his position in the 2022 election with a nine per cent margin.

Mr O’Brien is the Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy.

The rural electorate includes Nambour, Eumundi, Buderim and out towards Kenilworth.

Fairfax was named after Ruth Beatrice Fairfax, one of the founders of the Country Women’s Association.

Apart from Clive Palmer’s win 2013, the LNP has held the seat since 1990, with Alexander Somlyay completing a 23-year stint as the federal MP between 1990 and 2013.

The eight Fairfax candidates are, (ballot paper order) Beatrice Marsh (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation), Francine Wiig (Independent), Rhys Sanderson (Family First), Sue Etheridge (Greens), Naomi McQueen (Labor), Paul McKeown (Independent), Ted O’Brien (LNP) and gregory Ryzy (Trumpet of Patriots).
