Queensland students discover they got the perfect ATAR 2021

The hardest and the easiest degrees to enter at the University of Sunshine Coast can be revealed as the education institution released its ATAR requirements across all courses.

The figures come as prospective university students await anxiously their acceptance letters for their chosen field of study.

The University of the Sunshine Coast has released its minimum ATAR threshold for prospective students, including 92 spots offered to complete a Bachelor of Nursing science.

Bachelor of Medical Science remains to be the hardest course to enter with a minimum 99.8 ATAR required to earn a place in the course.

The highest ATAR possible is 99.95.

This was followed by a Bachelor of Midwifery with a minimum ATAR of 98 and a Bachelor of Biomedicine with a minimum 94 ATAR.

Meanwhile, those who achieved an ATAR of 50, the lowest ATAR needed to study at USC, would be able to apply for a Bachelor of Animal Ecology or an Associate Degree in Business.

More than 15,000 university offers were sent out by the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre on Thursday to students looking to further their studies.

Medical courses remain the toughest degrees to get into for prospective students across the state.

Other courses requiring top ATARs across the state included a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) at UQ (99) and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at UQ (98).

While USC recorded a minimum ATAR threshold of 72 for its Sunshine Coast campus, the University of Queensland required an 84.8, Griffith University an 81, CQUniversity 68 and the University of Southern Queensland 65.6.

The Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre said today’s offer round took the total number of offers for the coming year to Queensland students to 24,521.

“It’s fantastic to connect so many Year 12 students with their future aspirations,” acting QTAC chief executive Lisa Silver said.

“In a time when physical and mental health is so important, it’s reassuring to see our next generation of health professionals coming through.”
