A Sunshine Coast boy is facing 36 charges over months worth of alleged dangerous stunts on an electric bike which he posted to an Instagram account with more than 12k followers.

Police have charged a Sunrise Beach boy with 36 traffic offences that allegedly occurred across Noosaville, Peregian Beach, and Noosa Heads, in nine separate incidents, from March to May this year.

Reportedly, police will allege he was sharing footage of himself doing wheelies, jumps, and other bike stunts while travelling down busy roads and highways on the Sunshine Coast - to an Instagram account with more than 12k followers.

On Sunday, May 19, Detectives charged the 15-year-old boy with nine counts each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving without a driver’s licence, unregistered vehicle, and drive uninsured.

The arrest follows an investigation launched by Noosa Heads Child Protection Unit into road offences involving young people riding electric bikes throughout Noosa Heads.

It will be alleged detectives located a series of videos uploaded to social media showing the boy engaging in dangerous stunts on an electric bike.

The 15-year-old is expected to appear before Maroochydore Children’s Court today, May 22.
