It looks like there is a bit of wind forecast for the weekend, which will mean rivers and creeks will be the best option.
There is a really good run in the tide thanks to the new moon so this will fire up a few species.
Fish on the Move
I filmed with the Creek to Coast crew in the Maroochy River on Wednesday with Cam Sullivan, who works at Swan Boat Hire.
We caught jewfish around the bottom of the tide.
Then as the tide started to push in and the bait arrived around Chambers Island with it came the giant trevally, tailor and a few queenfish.
We caught them on 4 inch soft plastics with a light jig head that we worked fairly quickly.
There are a few of the same fish moving around the Noosa River as well.
If you see the fish busting up they will also eat small poppers or stick baits.
Also, bream have been pretty good taking strips of mullet, garfish and beach worms on the open beaches around the bottom of the tide.
A few tailor are taking ganged pillies, plus the crabs have been OK so worth soaking a few pots in the creeks for sure.
