Sunshine Coast police have upped patrols after reports of a group of youths were spotted near the university early one morning armed with a “bladed weapon”.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said police were called to reports of a group of people, allegedly in possession of a “bladed weapon”, on Scholars Dr in Sippy Downs about 1.45am on Monday, October 28.

Police conducted extensive patrols but could not find the group.

No one has been charged or arrested.

“There have been no reports of injuries or damage in relation to this,” the police spokeswoman said.

Anyone with information or CCTV footage should contact police.
