Sunshine Coast breaking news: Hiker calls for help on Mt Beerwah

Fire and rescue crews have swarmed on the Sunshine Coast hinterland to assist a trekker to descend a track in the Glass House Mountains.

Rescue crews are on scene in the Sunshine Coast hinterland to help a stray hiker.

Multiple Queensland Fire Department personnel were called to Mt Beerwah about 1pm on Thursday to reports a hiker needed assistance to descend the mountain.

A QFD spokeswoman said crews arrived about 1.30pm and were in the process of making contact with them. She said fireys were in the process of deciding how to gain access to the trekker.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were responding however there were no reports of major injuries and will be on standby.

No helicopter has been called as yet.

Tuesday - Two children injured, traffic chaos after dramatic crash

Traffic is at a standstill after a car rolled and landed on its roof in a two-car crash on the Sunshine Coast this morning, with two young children suffering head injuries.

Emergency crews are responding to two car crashes on the Sunshine Coast, Tuesday morning, November 11.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said a crew was called to a two-car crash at Coochin St and Cooroy St, Dicky Beach, at 8.27am.

He said one of the cars had rolled and landed on its roof.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said one car had an uninjured driver and the second car had four people inside.

She said of those two were young children. One child was reportedly an infant to toddler age.

Traffic nearby was reportedly at a standstill.

The ambulance spokeswoman said both children had suffered minor head injuries and would be taken to hospital.

Earlier, one woman with no injuries was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a two-car crash on Hobbs Rd, Buderim.

A QAS spokeswoman said one car was filled with people in their 20s and the other was just a single female driver (who was taken to hospital).
