Sunrise Beach, Sunshine Beach among Noosa suburbs set to undergo real estate makeover

From beach shacks to unit blocks, these are the latest homes set to be demolished in some of Noosa’s most exclusive suburbs as development ramps up. See the list.

An influx of demolition applications have been submitted to the Noosa Council in the past month, as exclusive beachside suburbs undergo major real estate makeovers.

Among properties on the chopping block are humble beachside shacks, units blocks as well as multimillion-dollar homes.

The owners of the property at 19 Elanda St submitted their application to demolish the existing house to the Noosa Council

The four-bedroom home was built in 1987 and sits on an 858 square metre block, according to property data.

The property last sold in October 2021, for $4.6m.

Built in 1990, a single-storey three-bedroom house currently occupies the 594 square metre block

Also built in 1990, this two-bedroom home sits on a 569 square metre block with the beach just at the end of the street.

Last sold in February 2018 for $1m, the property owners submitted the demolition application to the Noosa Council on May 3.

The 678 square metre block in Sunrise Beach currently houses a two-storey four-bedroom home, which was built in 1990.

The property last sold in December 2019 for $1.6m, with the owners submitting their demolition application to the Noosa Council last week.

The long term owners of the three-bedroom home on a 631 square metre block in the exclusive Noosa suburb, Sunrise Beach, submitted their demolition notice in April.

According to property data the house is currently rented out for $550 per week.

The property last sold in January 1996 for $135,000.

A five-bedroom house located on Pacific Ave, Sunshine Beach, which runs adjacent to Elanda St, currently occupies the 569 square metre block.

A demolition application for the house, built in 1984, was submitted by the owners at the end of April.

The current owners bought the property in February 2009 for $575,000, according to property data.

The current owners of the unit block on Adams St, Sunshine Beach, bought the property off well-known Noosa building designer, Chris Clout.

The existing dwelling on Adams St includes four units spread across two-storeys, which last sold in August 2023 for $3.5m.

Each of the four units, built in the 1980s, are currently being rented out.

A demolition application was submitted to the Noosa Council on April 26.
