The owners of a popular Asian-inspired restaurant in Noosa have announced their new business venture after six years of success.

The trio behind Sum Yung Guys in Noosaville, Jeremiah Jones, Matthew Sinclair and Michael Rickard, revealed on social media an “iconic” waterfront site has been secured for their new restaurant expected to open this year.

Named Pelicano Noosa, the soon-to-be venue has already collected more than 3000 followers on its own Instagram page.

The post stated the new venue - which had been 18 months in the making - would sport a “fun, share-style menu with Mediterranean flavour” as well as a view upstream of the Noosa River.

“There’s an incredibly special feeling that comes with claiming an iconic waterfront restaurant location in our home town of Noosa,” the post stated.

The private dining space can seat 40 people and can hold up to 150 guests for functions and events, the post stated.

It is expected Pelicano Noosa will open in September.
