Sunshine Coast golf: Best up and coming young talents

The next generation of young and up and coming Sunshine Coast golf stars are ready to make their mark on the world stage. See the full list of our most talented hitters.

The Sunshine Coast is filled with a number of exciting up and coming golf talents stretching from Noosa, Peregian, Maroochy River and everywhere else in between that could one day be putting against the world’s best.

With some already making their mark at state and national level and others on the verge of carving out their careers, golf has rapidly become a thriving sport on the Sunshine Coast and there’s no signs of it hitting the rough.

Maybe it’s because of our climate or maybe it’s because we have so many outstanding golf courses, but a key reason is the talented coaches that choose to base themselves in our region.

With the Coast producing a number of Open winners in the past like Ian Baker-Finch, PGA Tour champions Katherine Kirk, Sarah-Jane Smith and Steven Bowditch, we have legitimate claims to Adam Scott and Cameron Smith, and we’re about to introduce new stars like Cassie Porter and Justice Bosio to the world stage.

At the risk of leaving out some worthy candidates and in the knowledge that our calculations are likely to change as the region’s young stars mature and develop, here’s the Daily’s attempt to list the Sunshine Coast’s most exciting up and coming golf stars.
