Sunshine Coast football's best ever goalscorers

We’ve compiled a list of the best male and female goalscorers in Sunshine Coast football from the past 51 years. FULL LIST HERE.

The Sunshine Coast has seen plenty of sporting talent across its time and the sport of Football is no different.

After compiling a gallery of the best male and female Sunshine Coast football players since 1991, we’ve now reflected on the region's most lethal finishers in front of goal.

The award for the top goalscorer was first introduced in 1970 after Charlie Rocker, a prolific Woombye striker was sadly killed.

The Charlie Rocker Memorial Trophy was established in 1971 to recognise the senior male player who had scored the most goals in the season.

The inaugural winner was Ray Dann from Beerwah-Glasshouse United before fittingly, Charlie’s brother Horst won the trophy in 1973 and his nephew Scott first won the award in 1998 before winning the award a further six times.

Other notable mentions include Beerwah Glasshouse United player Lyle Bryce and Noosa player Steve Walsh, who each won the award four times between 1976 and 1986.

Now, we’ve taken a look back at the best male and female goalscorers the Sunshine Coast has seen since 1987.
