Queensland trainer Chris Munce is weighing up the options for his stable’s key runners as he aims to build on his solid Sunshine Coast track record.

The Eagle Farm-based trainer currently sits in the top 10 on the Sunshine Coast trainers rankings with 13 winners and 26 placings from 98 starts this season.

With two winners and two placings from his past four starts at Caloundra, Munce said he was proud to see his horses get the recognition they deserved.

“Things are going well and it was a brave effort from Kintamani last start,” he said.

“He was well ridden by my apprentice Tahlia Fenlon and the horse had come back in good order this time around so it was good to see him break through.

Munce said he hoped the trend could continue with Kintamani, Enolaba and Dwindling Spirit nominated for Friday, June 16.

“I’m undecided if I run him (Kintamani) or not on Friday, I might just jump him out next Tuesday and run him in a Class 1 in town at Eagle Farm in a couple of weeks’ time,” he said.

“The other two are both racing well.

“Dwindling Spirit has had two trials and is ready to go to the races and the other mare is going well, she’s knocking on the door and deserves to break through for a win in the not too distant future.”

Munce has also nominated two for the Sunshine Coast Sunday race meet on June 18.

Both Payline and Shapin Power come in with good trial form in the past month.

“Payline is in at Ipswich on Saturday but also for Caloundra on Sunday,” he said.

“His trials have been good, he’s still got a bit to learn but he’s going okay.

“Shapin Power is first up but she’s had three trials and is ready to go to the races.”
