A humble and talented mother of three played a key role in the Noosa Tigers’ 132-point win over Moorooka, kicking a whopping 11 goals for her side.

Vice-captain Dani Bishop-Kinlyside, who has only been playing the sport for four seasons, kicked a career-high 11 goals on Saturday, July 1, to add to her side’s undefeated 2023 campaign in the QFAW Division 2 North fixture.

The 37-year-old full forward, who currently leads the competition‘s goal kicking leaderboard with 33 majors in eight matches, said she still couldn’t believe her milestone achievement.

“Obviously I was trying not to count because then I know I would’ve been kicking crooked but I know after the first quarter all of the girls were pumping me up and I think I was sitting at four goals,” she said.

“I kicked another three before halftime and then our coach Pete (Trompf) and everyone was telling me to go for 10.”

Bishop-Kinlyside said she was just happy to have beaten her previous best of six goals in a game.

“I knew they were getting up there and then I kicked one in the last quarter and everyone came from everywhere to jump on me, give me a hug and a high-five so I figured out that was the 10th and then I kicked one more for good luck,” she said.

“I tried to remain humble but on the inside it was a beautiful feeling.

“I don’t think it’s sunk in just yet but I’m not going to lie, it felt bloody good.”

The Tigers eventually won the game 20.12.132 to 0.0.0.

Bishop-Kinlyside said she was thankful for her team's support as the Tigers aim for its fourth premiership since 2020.

“I think I only kicked two goals off the ground, the others were from my teammates hitting me fair on the chest,” she said.

“In the change rooms they were all hyping me up but I made sure I thanked them all for helping me and it was an epic team win to be honest.

“We’re going for four premierships in a row, we’ve got to keep growing but it’ll be really special to make another grand final for the club and for the girls.”

Noosa will play Ipswich in round 12 before they meet second place Caloundra away in the following fixture.
