A Sunshine Coast mother, who was convicted of illegal prostitution and drug dealing in October, has returned to court for a raft of new charges including attempting to bring drugs into the Maroochydore Court House.

Shania Michelle Pedlow fronted Maroochydore District Court on November 28, after she was convicted of several crimes on October 6 including illegal prostitution, the court was told.

She faced court on a number of outstanding charges from between February 21 and July 18, including 15 breaches of bail, six of possessing a dangerous drug, two of failing to dispose of a needle or syringe, enter premises to commit an indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle to commit an indictable offence, possessing S8 medicines, possessing a used pipe, possessing tainted property, fraud and two charges of attempted fraud.

She pleaded guilty to all.

The court was told Pedlow had been busted bringing drugs into the Maroochydore Court House after she was pulled up by security.

Then, in March, she and a man were caught on CCTV at a Sunshine Beach unit complex car park trying to open a number of car doors before they managed to get into a Mercedes.

They later stole a Nissan Navara from David Low Way while the owner was surfing, the court was told.

In July, Pedlow used a misplaced phone to fraudulently transfer herself $400, and later attempted to transfer $6700 in two separate transactions.

Judge Gary Long said in his summing up Pedlow had “co-operated with the course of justice” and expressed remorse for her actions. She wished to be reunited with her young daughter, also, he said.

She was seen wiping away tears in the courtroom dock.

Judge Long sentenced Pedlow to 15 months behind bars, with 150 days behind bars declared time served.

She will be released on parole on December 21.

A conviction was recorded.
